MEET THE FOUNDER

Bronwen Peternell, FNP

Bronwen Peternell is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience across many settings: Internal and Integrative Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics. She has diagnosed and treated the array of illnesses consequently developed by her patients, who had engaged in a lifetime of unhealthy habits. It is what constituted a majority of medical visits: chronic disease and complications that could have been prevented through healthy lifestyle behaviors.

Bronwen became a Family Nurse Practitioner with the intent to prevent disease and promote health through education. This is a difficult task to do in the current medical model. Bronwen started her own practice, in collaboration with her husband, Dr. Brian Peternell, DO, a specialist in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, to change that.

Bronwen fundamentally believes that people can change. They WANT to change. They simply need the exposure and the right environment to promote change.

In her spare time, Bronwen practices what she preaches! When not with her patients, you can find her running or biking along the coast, grunting during a strength training workout, grocery shopping for the ingredients to the latest and greatest recipe, cooking up a storm in her kitchen, or losing herself playing Chopin. She enjoys all this and more when she can share it with her incredibly energetic 8-year-old son, Jack, and loving husband, Brian.

MEET DR. BRIAN PETERNELL, DO

Osteopathic Physician

Dr. Brian Peternell believes in the body’s innate ability to heal and his objective is to find and support the health of his patients. Impediments to the expression of health come in many forms, nearly always with an anatomic component (nervous, vascular, fascial, muscular, skeletal, etc.), that, when functionally restored, contributes to physiologic correction. This is the mechanical basis of osteopathic manipulation, a core component of traditional osteopathy.

The expression of health is not merely mechanical in nature. Mind and spirit must also be attuned. Cranial osteopathy provides a window into the expression and harmony of these within and throughout the body.

Dr. Peternell is a licensed physician and, as such, has the privilege to make use of all available diagnostic and therapeutic modalities as may be necessary to understand and support the expression of health in his patients.

Dr. Peternell is a father and husband, who enjoys family time with his son and wife, Jack and Bronwen. This usually involves water, waves, sand, dirt or snow and, when possible, happens with extended family and friends, occasionally outside the country. It's good to be together!
